Placca commemorativa alla scuola
Michele was a 24 year-old young man living in Rome, Italy, when one night of October 2010 he lost his life in a road traffic accident. Michele was altruistic, sensitive and generous, but also introverted and mysterious. He was an athlete and loved spending time with his friends. He read voraciously and was a law student in university.
His untimely death interrupted his studies and it is for this reason that we, his family, made our choice: Michele will continue to live in our memory and in the memory of all those who knew and loved him also through a project which will contribute to the flowering of other lives, helping them break out of a fate which must not be rooted in poverty and suffering.
The “Michele Ricci School for Life” project managed by AMREF supports the education of young women in South Sudan, so as to give them a better future, and it is rooted in this family commitment. This better future is what we had wished for Michele.
This school is an opportunity which must offer its students the chance for cultural and social growth; for us it is an opportunity to steer our memories in a fresh direction.
This school hosts within it Michele, his name and his features, knowing that the life which every day runs through it freshens the memory of him within those who loved him, those who support the project and all of those who will benefit from it.
Emilio, Maria Rosa, Caterina and Nicola Ricci.
